Louis Collin, a research engineer at EDF R&D, received the Young Researcher Award for his work on modeling masonry partitions.
His research, conducted at the École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (DER GCE) and the Paris-Saclay Mechanics Laboratory (LMPS), aims to improve the reliability of numerical models for predicting structural behavior—a key challenge for nuclear safety.
He has developed an innovative experimental setup based on digital image correlation, which allows for precise measurement of deformations and better validation of models.
This work represents a significant advance for both research and industrial applications.
